CHALLENGE YOURSELF AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR STARTUPS!
We hereby present the programme Scandinavian Growth Creators, which is ideal for students prompted by development. It is a unique opportunity to put your competences to use in a multidisciplinary context and make a concrete difference. In the programme you will work closely with an AAU startup and get to be part of their development.
Please be aware that the programme takes place at campus Aalborg.
Working side by side with interesting startups on their challenges
At AAU we have an Incubator environment where new companies are founded and developed. We choose three interesting startups, each one with a challenge that YOU will get the opportunity to work on. The challenges will often be somewhat linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We admit 16 students from different study backgrounds which will be split into 4 groups so that each group will work closely with one startup. There will be business developers from AAU Incubator who will facilitate the corporation and guide you in the work and there will be two learning consultants who will introduce interesting tools and methods to include in the work and put structure on the process.
You will make a difference for a startup!
The course is structured around Google Design Sprint and through 7 sessions, we will take you through the following topics:
- Identification of the challenge/work area
The first sessions will put focus on the competences present in the team and go through strengths and weaknesses so that all teams will have the best possible start to their corporation.
In all sessions, there will be coffee/tea as well as a sandwich for dinner.
The learning consultants, Jesper Vestergaard and Jesper Thinnesen, will be present and introduce tools, methods and advice in all the sessions. Between the sessions the students and the representatives from the respective startups will work on their own, but each team will also get a Business Developer from SEA, who can be contacted for sparring.

What do our participants say?
"SGC was a valuable opportunity to work closely with founders of the startups. I have learnt a lot from Frederik and Mathias, including their vision, mission, even the problems they are facing. Additionally, there were practical training sessions in between which equipped me and my teammates with necessary know-how to tackle the challenges together with the startups."
Anh Nguyen, SGC participant.
