Testimonials from former New Entrepreneurs

Rasmus Bach

Own company: Smedegaard Consulting

Host Entrepreneur: META Group Srl, Terni – Italy

Duration of stay: September 2016 – February 2017

What was your motivation and objectives for participating in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme?

“I wanted to develop my future business and the details of that, while gaining first-hand experiences into the workings of a professional, experienced entrepreneur, managing a professional consultancy company in a multicultural environment. Most likely, I would be facing similar obstacles as my host with my own business”

What did you get out of your participation in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme?

“I have been working with a wide array of different tasks during my stay. Both direct work tasks, business development tasks for META group and business development tasks for my own company. The conduction of the tasks I did during my stay has provided me with a lot of knowledge and experience, valuable for my own business endeavor. In relation to the development of my own business proposition, I have worked on the creation and establishment of Smedegaard Consulting, a consultancy company with an emphasis on quality and customizability. I was mentored and supported by my host entrepreneur, but also colleagues at META Group in the development of both my business proposition, value delivery, customer segmentation, website creation and much more.

"In the end, I came far enough to launch my own company!”

Melina Dahl

Own company: www.islaenderdyrlaegen.dk

Host Entrepreneur: Veterinarian Hildur Edda Thorarinsdottir - www.gigahestar.is, Iceland

Duration of stay: June 2016 – December 2016

What was your motivation and objectives for participating in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme?

“I wanted to participate in the programme because I have always aspired to run my own veterinary practice, focusing specifically on Icelandic horses. My ambitions for the programme were that it should give me experience in Iceland, improve my knowledge, skills and prepare myself to start my own company.

For me, it was important to learn from an experience veterinary who knows how to treat Icelandic horses, and here Iceland was the best place for me to go.”

What did you get out of participating in the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme?

“The objective of the programme was to learn how to run a veterinarian practice and veterinarian work. I achieved a lot of knowledge of running a business in Iceland, but also learned that it was much harder to have your own business than expected.

Since my participation in the programme, I have started my own business, called www.islaenderdyrlaegen.dk. The knowledge I gain during my stay has definitely helped me to get a rolling start with my own business.

The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme was a great experience for me, and I can only recommend it if other young entrepreneurs want to start up their own.”
