Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a win-win program for both established and young would-be entrepreneurs. The programs focus is on knowledge exchange, where young entrepreneurs acquire skills and knowledge from established entrepreneurs, who in return receives feedback and a fresh perspective on their business.

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is your chance to learn first-hand all the skills needed to become a successful entrepreneur. Through the exchange program, you will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced entrepreneur in another European Union country, thereby learning through experiences, thus strengthening your entrepreneurial skills.

Why: As a would-be or newly established entrepreneur, you may find yourself at some crossroads. Through Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs you will receive on-the-job training, with the experienced entrepreneur helping to answer your questions and prepare you to run your own company successfully.

How: The program is run by a network of local contact points, including Chambers of Commerce, incubators and other organizations supporting businesses, present in the different European Union countries. After you fill in your online application and get accepted into the program, the contact point you will have chosen in our country will provide you with support and assistance to find your host entrepreneur. You will also receive practical assistance during your stay abroad. For more information about contact points in your country, please visit “Your local contact point” on the program’s website.

 

Host Entrepreneurs

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is your chance to get a fresh perspectives on your business venture. Through the program, you will be partnered with a young would-be entrepreneur, who will follow your everyday work, and bring new insight into your business and possibly new opportunities.  

Why: You can get input from the fresh ideas and new skills of a motivated new entrepreneur. You can tap into the knowledge of other European markets and develop your international contacts, without moving from your office. The exchange could be the starting point to find new opportunities for your business.

How: The program is run by a network of local contact points, including Chambers of Commerce, incubators and other organizations that support businesses present in the different European Union countries. Once you have completed your online application and get accepted for the program, the contact point you will have chosen in your country will help you to find a new entrepreneur that matches your requirements. The new entrepreneur will spend time at your company, contributing to its development, while you will be sharing your entrepreneurial experience with them. This will be a personal commitment you cannot delegate to someone else. There is a contact point near you that can help you throughout your application. PROGRAM DETAILS

The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program is an exchange program for entrepreneurs financed by the European Union.

The exchange may last for between one and six months and the new entrepreneur receives a grant to cover the main part of expenses during the exchange.

Who can apply

Young Entrepreneurs:

  • You are a would-be entrepreneur, firmly planning to start a business OR an entrepreneur having started your own business within the last 3 years. There is no age limit!
  • You are a permanent resident in one of the European Union countries.
  • You have a concrete project or business idea, reflected in a business plan.
  • You can clearly demonstrate your motivation and commitment to engage in a business relationship with an experienced entrepreneur from another European Union country.
  • You are prepared to contribute to the development of the host entrepreneur’s business.
  • You are prepared to cover the costs of your stay abroad exceeding the EU grant (approx. 900 € pr. Month).

 

Host Entrepreneurs:

  • You are a permanent resident in one of the European Union countries.
  • You are the owner-manager of a small or medium sized enterprise or a person directly involved in entrepreneurship at board level.
  • You have been running your own company for several years.
  • You are willing to share your knowledge and experience with a new entrepreneur and act as a mentor.
